Okay, it's been six weeks since last I wrote here, so I thought I'd get back into the fray with something positive.
We recently received a link to an old music video produced by Playing for Change, "Stand By Me." Getting it reminded me of just how much I like the organization that created it. Playing for Change (PFC) gets musicians from around the world-- some well-known, some street buskers, some known only locally --to play together, one-at-a-time, and then to get the music "out there" for the world to hear. PFC also raises funds to build a music school and arts center in South Africa, and to repair and renovate Tibetan refugee centers in India and Nepal. Watch the video below to learn more. And then, enjoy the two music videos that follow it:

On 7 October 2007 (John's 67th birthday), Yoko Ono dedicated the Peace Tower on an island just off the coast of Rekjavik, Iceland. Here is the video inviting people to gather for it...

A message from Yoko
If one billion people in the world think peace, we'll get peace.
You may think: "Well, how are we going to get one billion people in the world to think PEACE?"Remember, each one of us has the power to change the world.
Power works in mysterious ways.
You don't have to do much.
Visualise the domino effect and just start thinking PEACE.
Thoughts are infectious.
Send it out.
The message will circulate faster than you think.
It's time for action.
The action is PEACE.
Spread the WORD.
Spread PEACE.
Remember: A dream we dream together is reality.
So stand up, speak out, and come together.
Imagine all the people living life in peace.
love
